COMMUNITY

We are very proud to be part of the local Lowton community and we believe that our students should support and have a good understanding of their local area.

Our children will visit the home for the elderly which is situated opposite the school, Elmridge Court, in December. They will entertain the residents with carol singing and bring them mince pies.

Our school community enjoys being part of its locality. Distributing gifts at Harvest gives much pleasure to the children and provides them with a valuable learning opportunity. Recently food collected at Harvest has been donated to our local Food Bank.

Charity events are also an important part of the school. The children have taken part in raising money for various charities in a range of fun activities such Children In Need, Millie’s Trust, having a giant coffee morning for the Macmillan Coffee Morning, and going on a ‘Welly Walk’ in the local community to raise money for Farm Africa

These links with the local community enable us to extend our knowledge and understanding of our local area.

TRANSPORT

At present we do not offer a school bus service. However with adequate interest this is something that is something that we would consider. We send home a questionnaire at the end of each academic year to establish if this is something parents would be interested in. Over the summer holidays staff then look at the interest and what areas the service is required in, if a transport service becomes a viable option parents would be contacted within the holidays in preparation for September. We welcome all enquiries regarding transport at any point during the year.

We use our own vehicles to transport the children to the local sports centre for their swimming lessons and all drivers have a current DBS certificate and are accompanied at all times by teaching staff.
